Coiled Steel Slitting Line Upgrade

As a part of the relocation of eight Coil Processing and Roll Forming Lines into a new Facility ACE custom designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned several new Line Modules. These included Coil Storage Racks, a 25 Tonne Coil Car with a unique rotating saddle, a Twin Head Slitter Change Over System to enable time efficient head changes and off line Tooling Set Ups, and a 4 arm, 20 Tonne per arm rotary Capstan. In addition, all of the Operator Access Stairways and Platforms were designed, manufactured and installed by ACE. All of the modules and platforms were integrated into the existing machine to minimise the upgrade cost.

Major Steel Service Centre Upgrade

ACE provided fixed price quotations for the relocation and upgrade of two Coiled Steel Processing Lines in Perth. The lines were subsequently installed into a new Greenfield Facility. The upgrades consisted of a new 15 Tonne Uncoiler and an Automatic Packing Line incorporating an existing Strapping Unit. Upon the completion of this stage, ACE was approached to provide a fixed quotation for the overall management of and installation of a new Slitting and Packing Line at the same facility. This line had been purchased from overseas. This included the requirement to produce a Safety Management Plan, which fully complied with some of the most stringent safety requirements within Australian Industry. ACE was awarded the contract and successfully completed the full Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical Installation of the, over 10 million dollar, machine with no lost time injuries. Several custom designed machine enhancements were manufactured and installed towards the completion of the project, namely an overhead Jib to support a manual Strapper at the Capstan, light weight Coil Car Saddle to allow removal of smaller coils from the Uncoiler, Slitter Blade Tooling Storage Racks, Overarm Separator Operator Access Platforms and Tooling Storage Racks and numerous Operator Safe Access Steps and Platforms.
